Not a normal reaction to commercials

Here I am, sitting like a bum at my desk and clicking the link to watch yet another episode of Arrested Development. This particular episode is brought to me by Pedigree. I mute the 30 second commercials as I wait for the next segment to begin playing and go about my business. But then an adorable puppy shows up on the screen and I just have to un-mute it to find out what's going on.

I watch the following, almost cried, and then was unable to enjoy the rest of the show.

That's not normal, is it? Or is audience tears what they're going for?

Is that the Sarah McLachlan commercial? (I refuse to watch in case it is.) Because the same exact thing has happened to me-I was ff'ing and stopped for the cute puppies, and then IT WAS SO FUCKING SAD.

No, you're totally not alone. I can't even watch any of those commercials, they break my heart!! I just turn the channel before I can cry!

i watched this commercial with my roommate and we happen to be 2 of the most emotionless women in the world. yah, we both teared up to the point that one of us had to leave the room due to discomfort.

I fell into that trap too. Stop FF'ing the Tivo to look at the puppy and then sat in my own tears on a Sunday afternoon.

Tears is totally what they're going for!

I've got you all beat! As a life-long self confessed "Cat person", I was stunned by my reaction to that Pedigree commercial staring "Echo". So moved by her and her plight was I that I actually contacted the Pedigree company about adopting Echo. Me and some 2000 other people that is! Talk about effective marketing!

the worst are the commercials about adopting/supporting dogs and cats that have previously been abused. They always show the kitten with the one eye and it breaks my heart every time.
Almost makes me want to fill my house with one-eyed, three-legged dogs and cats.
